Shirley Temple's Turn

by gregbell 4/23/2008 11:04:00 AM

Well last week, we played a birthday special for Bette Davis - she was born one hundred years ago this month and passed away in 1989 at age 81 (note, I had her age wrong in my previous post, oops). Well this time we are celebrating the birthday of an actress still with us - Shirley Temple was born on April 23rd, 1928 - so she is 80. Over on XM Radio Classics 164 - we are featuring here in a one hour Lux Radio Theatre broadcast - of Captain January - she was just 8 when making the 1936 film and was 12 in the radio broadcast. It airs this Saturday (April 26th) at 4PM ET and Midnight ET (late Saturday/Early Sunday)

If you don't already have it you can get the printable schedules at the following website - http://www.xmradio.com/onxm/channelpage.xmc?ch=164

It's not all good news for the now 80 year old Temple Black, here's a news story about her (which includes a recent pic)
and finally here is how many remember her.
