Not trying to sideline this entry but we've all seen the list of XM Voice Talent that is being let go. I have scoured everything I can find but I don't see your name or our Channel listed. Is the info we've seen so far true and you and 164 are safe??

Hi, Greg! Someone goofed. When I look at the pix of Joan Fontaine and Olivia de Haviland, it's Joan pictured on the left (the color pic) and Olivia is on the right.
I HOPE WHAT I'VE READ ABOVE IS NOT TRUE - That XM/Sirius might let you go. That would be as tragic as ....oops, I was going to say something political but I'll keep it quiet. I'm going to Email XM/Sirius and BEG them to keep Ch. 164 and YOU.
Great sked next week. I love "Ivy" and anything with ORSON.
To all who are old enough to remember, say a prayer for Levi Stubbs, lead singer for the 4 Tops. He died Friday and this is a sad day for those of us who grew up with the music of the 1960s and 1970s and with Motown.

Being in the banking industry I have been thru my fair share of mergers and managed to survive them. I know you never know but I hope they realize that we love this channel and Greg. We could own all the programs you play, many of us own our fair share, but we would greatly miss hearing your tidbits Greg. They bring the people alive for me. I have sent many an email to the powers that be and I know I am not alone. Hopefully they will listen to their subscribers. Good luck and know we are listening!

I appreciate your quoting Mark Twain, Greg. Love that quote. I sure hope that's correct!!! I am NOT saying you are leaving (and anyone who thinks so from what I write here is sadly mistaken and misinterpreting my communication), but to give you an idea of what your shows mean to me, if you ever left XM, I would probably unsubscribe and retire my radio. I would sob and cry out to God and remember the day every day for the rest of my life. Your tidbits and insight and shows you pick are what make my days go by so happily. I love to listen while I do dishes, and icky cleaning things around the house and they really make it something I look forward to! I listen to your shows while I go to the grocery store, and take the dogs for a walk. Your shows are with me almost all day long. You created this blog so we could get more info we were demanding. You do all this research and give us photos and info we crave. Know you are loved all over the U.S. and XM should know you CAN'T leave, ever. I would have to go up there and give the powers that be a piece of my mind, and trust me, they don't want that. Love ya Greg!

Hey Greg, Just wanted to say i'm in my twenties and I love listening to XM 164 on occasion, I got XM in January of 2006 and I got a second XM reciever (a Myfi) for Christmas in 2006. I am also a huge sports fan which is another reason I got XM. Two Questions, 1. I know that the on air staff on Sonic Theater talk about your channel a lot and I was wondering if you knew whether or not Sonic Theater will stay on XM after all the channels are merged, I really love 163 especially the Imagination Theater shows and I would hate to see them go, 2. Do you have any episodes of the show "I Love a Mystery" in your library?, I understand it is a rare show in that not many episodes exist of it, also as it happens one of my favorite TV shows is Scooby Doo and it turns out the mystery idea for Scooby Doo came from that show, anyway I would love to hear at least one episode of the show if you have any in your library.

Greg - If anyone were to let you go, then reports of his or her death would NOT be greatly exaggerated!
No problem RE: Joan and Olivia; I actually liked them both. Joan was perfect in "Rebecca" and "Jane Eyre" (made in 1944 and which starred my favorite, Orson Welles).
Olivia, for me, will always be Melanie Wilkes of "GWTW." I know she won an Oscar or two but, to me, she IS Melanie!
Is the sked for 10/26 through 11/3 done? I ask because Sun., 11/2/08 is All Souls Day and it also would have been my mother's 81st birthday. She loved OTR and audio tapes, too; I used to tape "CBS Radio Mystery Theater" for her when it was on WABC Radio. It aired for 2 hours Saturday and 3 hours Sunday. I'd tape each episode, pause for the commercials, then continue taping. I'd get 2 episodes per 90-minute tape. I still have them all. Oh, how she loved that show! The creeking door (did you know that sound and the NBC Chimes are the only sounds that are patented?) and the voice of EG Marshall saying, "Come in...welcome..." I don't think we'll get to hear CBSRMT on XM/Sirius until Hyman Brown, age 98, goes to that Old Time Radio Channel in the Sky. Wonder why he's so stubborn? He let itair on network channels - where I live (NJ), it aired on WABC, WCBS and WOR at various times...Oh well...WHO KNOWS WHAT EVIL LURKS IN THE HEARTS OF MEN????!!!!

I listen when I can and that is often. Lately, oh say within the last two or three months I haven't heard my favorte show Fibber McGee and Molly. On the last coupld of out of town trips all I hear if drama shows and Jach Benny. Even around town it's drama, suspense, and sci-fi. I like Gunsmoke, Have Gun Will Travel and The Six Shooter and of course the Lone Ranger. I miss Fibber though. Am I wrong just misssing it?

I am not much of a guy who thinks in so deeply about web design but I think your post had some valid points in it. Like designers are forced to design stuff within the limited code available and not go beyond it, their innovation is somewhat limited but still I think Web Design won't die! I agree that Amazon and other some big sites won't have a blog but now a days it's very important to have some sort of option available so people can quickly communicate their thoughts. I think Amazon if wants to shift it to that, they can get a customized CMS for themselves.
