Fri., Jan. 30, in addition to being my Uncle Wally's 80th birthday (I didn't expect you to know that), it was also on this day in 1933 that the 1st episode of "The Lone Ranger" aired on WXYZ in Detroit. It's also the 127th birthday of FDR. I found these facts in Bill Bennett's new book titled "The American Patriot's Almanac." I LOVE "TLR" and I'm so glad you air it. As one previous blogger stated, The Lone Ranger debuted on WXYZ radio in Detroit on January 30th in 1933. Not sure where it was broadcast in Detroit. I live in the suburbs of Detroit. Another note in radio history this week is the death of Jerry Seigel, creator of Superman who died in 1996 at the tender age of 81. I hope to hear more news or sports reels in the future. I enjoy those.

Hey, Margolane (LOVE the name...) --- I feel as you do about what NOT to listen to in the "wee small hours of the morning." I feel that way about "Zero Hour" and "Meteor Man." Those 2 scare the stuffing out of me but I listen anyway if my radio is still on (as it usually is). My poor dad has LOST his XM radio - I'm not working now so I've "STOLEN" it. He likes classical music, as do I, but I have the radio "stuck" on Ch. 164. To what were you referring when you mentiond "OTR Awards"? That would be TERRIFIC! Oh, and what kind of OTR do you have in Canada? I've always wondered about "foreign" - non-USA - Old Time Radio, such as what exists in Great Britain and Australia. Hey, Greg --- great episodes of "Gunsmoke" (it featured one of my 4 heartthrobs --- John Dehner) and "Suspense" as well as the YTJD Marathon titled the Calicles Affair. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. Interesting. I was just having a scan around this sort of area & I wanted to point out to anyone who is just getting into this that although penny shares sound "cheap" beginners often think that they are more suited to people with less money. I would highlight that they are just as suitable for people with high net wealth because the truth is we need to look at percentage gains. Also - having someone with little money especially who is new to the markets start on penny shares is probably a bad idea (they cant be expeted to learn to trade on a stock that has such little accurate information out there!). Ive added this to my Mixx bookmarks.
