Another great schedule. Looking forward to another Nighbeat and some timely baseball episodes. Ican't tell you Greg how much my wife and i enjoy your channel. In these challenging times it is like comfort food to be able relax together after a tough day and listen to good old fashioned American values. A great break from what this country has become, and a great reminder to keep our values near and dear in our daily activities as we fight through these times. Thank you. Jeff Foreman Arizona

Hi, Greg and Gang! Hey, Jeff - you and your wife will really enjoy next week's "Lights Out" -- it's the episode titled "Scoop" and, let me tell you, it'll scare the living stuffing out of you! I've heard it doezens of times and I still get delightfully scared! Maybe it scared me more because the story takes place in a newspaper office and I worked for a newspaper for 30 years before they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. If you ever gt a chance, Jeff and Mrfs. Jeff, also listen to "Revolt of the Worms," also an Arch Obeler production. Finally, I suggest "Meteor Man." Oh, man, they're GOOD. But don't listen to them at 2 AM; if you do, your eyeballs will end up on stalks, you'll be so scared. You're also right, Jeff, about the baseball episodes and also for saying OTR instills (whether it means to or not) the values with which we grew up. Halleluia! Hey, Gang - I hope y'all got to listen to "Donovan's Brain" this week. Oh, it's SOOOOO GOOD! I looked up Curt Siodmak on IMDB -- turns out to be a fascinating character. He was born in August 1902 and died in September 2000. He was born in Germany but left when he heard Herman Goebbels' outbursts. Mr. Siodmak said he's go to bed each night and say, "Heil, Hitler." Why? Because he said if it weren't for that "son of a b----," he'd still be in Berlin instead of in California! And, apparently, he and his wife were married from 1925 until he died in 2000! Talk about LONGEVITY! More later! Happy listening, God Bless and Good night, Mrs. Calabash (is that right?), wherever you are!

Hey, where's my avatar gone?! Today I look more like Lamont Cranston...hehehe Anyway, Greg....just wanted to let you know... I was under the weather on Sunday and your AMAZING! lineup for this week kept me focused on all the great hour-after-hour of entertainment rather than my upset tummy. I couldn't believe my ears...all my fav's just kept coming and coming. And then, of all things to hear, Donovan's Brain!! You just can't get any better than that; except maybe for the man in the bank wall ;o) You rock Greg! Two thumbs up and big hugs!

Oooops, now I'm back...weird.
4/5/2009 6:37:39 PM
Hi, Margolane - Sorry you were under the weather but you were so lucky to be able to listen to the radio. You're right - last week's scheduling was amazing. I swear, I listened to "The Damned Don't Cry" and "Return of the Native" EVERY TIME they were on. And I ordered both on CD. Don't forget to listen to "Lights Out" next week - the episode titled "Scoop." It will put hair on your chest, I swear. It's one of my favorite epsides of LO. Enjoy and I hope you feel better. Oh, and did you hear the "Lights Out" episode about the guys who are able to move at the speed of light - almost - and what happens to them when they do?! I heard that one in the middle of the night and I don't think I slept the rest of the night. I swear, if Arch Obeler hadn't sublimated his dark side by writing these stories, the man would have been a serial killer! Thank you, DEAR GREG, for scaring the stuffing out of me in such a delightful way! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK and GOD BLESS!

Hi Greg; Not a complaint, just a question, I tried to listen to the "Suspense" episode with Orson Wells twice this week and both times gave up because the sound quality was so poor, I couldn't undestand what was being said. The episode I am talking about was sandwiched between "Demension X" and "Have Gun will travel", both of which were perfectly clear. Just curious as to what was wrong? I am not a new listener, I listen to the station most every day, so it is most unusual to have a problem understanding the sound. Keep up the good work, I would be lost with out the station, and all the background information you supply. Best; Bob Conrad

Bob, not to speak out of school, but it may be that that particular episode is fairly degraded. Before my days of XM, I bought MP3 CDs that had the entire series of Suspense and, later, the entire series of Gunsmoke. I find that some of the episodes are very hard to hear and sometimes I just have to give up and not listen to a particular episode. I find this a lot more in the Suspense MP3 than the Gunsmoke probably because Suspense predated Gunsmoke by over a decade, so some of those episodes are nearly 70 years old!

Greg, Any updates to give us on The Lone Ranger?
Bob
4/6/2009 9:38:25 PM
Thanks Matt; I guess that's what happened , I tried twice and both times gave up. I'm nearly 70 years old myself, and not quite as good as I used to be. Bob Conrad

One show I've started to listen to that I'm really beginning to like is Richard Diamond. I thought I would give the show a shot. After listening to the show a couple of I've become a fan. It sounds liek it's a cross between a comedy and a drama. I love his sarcastic remarks. That's one show I'm going to start listening to when it's on.
4/7/2009 5:10:22 AM
I have been listening for 24 hours and have not heard Baby Snoops. When is it on?

Hey gang, I've developed an interest in the old time products that advertised OTR shows. One that caught my attention was for Delrich margarine with the "EZ Color Pak". It turns out that, when it first was sold in the U.S., margarine had to be sold in its "natural" color of white to clearly distinguish it from butter. The "EZ Color Pak" made the color mixing process easier, was “America’s Finest Margarine.” and sponsored Mutual’s "NICK CARTER, MASTER DETECTIVE".For more information see:http://www.old-time.com/commercials/1940%27s/Delrich%20E-Z%20Color%20Pak.htm

Hello, i've been browsing around your site and it looks really really neat. I'm building a family home page and struggling to make it look good, everytime i touch something i mess it up. How hard was it to build your site? Could someone like me with no experience do it, and add family update pages without wrecking it every time?

Greetings everyone, This page is first-class and so is how the subject was expanded. I like some of the comments too even though I would rather we all stay on the suject so that to add value to the subject. It will be also encouraging to the person who wrote it if we all could share it around (for some of us who use social media such as a reddit, facebook,..). Again, Thanks..

The Fed Funds Rate is the interest rate banks charge each other for the overnight sale of immediately available funds. Banks are lending to banks here. The Discount Rate is used when banks borrow funds from the Federal Reserve. These are funds that are not currently in the banking system. What the Fed is doing by raising the discount rate is limiting the amount of NEW MONEY that could be put into the banking system. Because there are currently over $1 trillion excess reserves already in the banking system...this move is not really a big deal. More than anything it's psychological.
