RIP Radio's Lois Lane, Joan Alexander

The actress who played Lois Lane on the Superman radio series as well as voicing Ellen Deering on Philo Vance, Detective and Della Street on Perry Mason (among other series) has passed away. According to news reports Joan Alexander died on May 21st, 2009. She was 94.

Game Show Network used to run an old black and white game show called "The Names The Same" and she was on the panel. It was a good show and she was funny on it.

Hi, Gang! Specifically for R.G. Collins: I LOVE your Popeye the Sailor Man illustration...from where did it come? I always loved Popeye --- I had an almost (or so it seemed to me) life-sized Popeye doll when I was a little girl - its plastic arms even had the anchor "tats" (tattoos)! To this day, spinach is one of my favorite vegetables. And, yes, I was a sailor! I was in the Navy (Reserves) for 10 years. I even wore the sailor "blouse (the 3-pleat square top) and a tie (that I had 2 male sailors tie for me. I had two ties and they tied both of them. The secret to keeping the two ends parallel and the knot square? Place a quarter in the middle and roll it TIGHT). And once you tie the tie, you NEVER untie it. One tie is for daily use and the other is for inspection.
I'm enjoying this week, Greg! And thanks for remembering our military. I am fortunate in that none of my military family members died in the line of duty but 2 were in POW camps. That's as close to living death as you can get.

I am constantly amazed that even a few of these old timers are still with us.

Am further distressed when I read about some who left us within the last 5 to 10 years without knowing that they are still appreciated today. They probably never dreamed that something like Satellite Radio would allow them to entertain us once again.

Rosemary, I just searched for Popeye pics and found one I liked.
Greg, I understand there were some Popeye radio programs, were they popular and do you have any?
