Sirius 118 XM 164 PDF Version and the Excel Version

Hey Gang,

As I write this on Monday, Memorial Day there are lots of good things coming up for Radio Classics.

First, to make the acquistion of the weekly printable schedule even easier, I have created a way for you to get it sent to you by email as soon as it is ready. Here is the link - Schedule By Mail

Secondly, thanks to the influx of "new" episodes and series from our content provider, the schedule rotation will be altered beginning the first week of June (actually May 31st since we begin on Sundays). The shows will still rotate with some repeats, but there will be fewer repeats during the week, which should be welcome for all.

Longtime XM listeners need to be aware that a specific episode will not repeat as much, so you'll need to play close attention to the schedule, so you make sure you are able to hear your "can't miss" shows. I will attempt to continue to "rest" an episode for at least one year after it finishes it's weeklong run.

Finally, some highlights for this week's schedule; we have birthday tributes to both Bob Hope and John Wayne as well as the ongoing Memorial Day Week special featuring Lux Radio Theatre's version of Wake Island, Hope on The Cavalcade of America and a special program produced by the military and known as The Fighting A.A.F.

Photos: Bob Hope & Paulette Goddard (The Ghost Breakers); John Wayne with Montgomery Clift (Red River).

Photos: 1942 Film Wake Island (Left to Right) MacDonald Carey, Brian Donlevy and Robert Preston (L to R). In Second Picture (Left To Right) Carey, Preston & Donlevy.

GREAT idea to get the schedule by mail. I always look forward to the new schedule. Hopefully soon we will see The Lone Ranger back on the schedule.

Thanks for remembering all the vets who fought and gave there lives in all wars. Also to the ones who survived and have passed, and the ones who are still alive. Thank you to each and every one of you. Today and everyday you all will be my heros.

Hi, Gang: Thank you, DEAR GREG, for allowing us to receive the weekly schedule via Email. (If you think my Email is a tad unusual --- I was in the Navy and...I love COWS, especially the black and white Holsteins).
I know it's a good thing to most that you won't repeat episodes but I'm a wee bit upset only because I almost look forward to the repeats, especially if I really like a show. HOWEVER...I can adjust and besides, I have SEVEN blank audio cassette tapes (I FINALLY found a place that caries blank cassette tapes) so I may tape a show and listen to it whenever I want. (I'm just old-fashioned enough to still use audio cassettes. I do have a CD player but MP players and IPods are absolutely beyond me. By the time I get used to those, however, they'll come up with something else - maybe implanting the shows or music directly into the brain?)
LOVE the pix, by the way, Greg. As I said before, thank you very much for remembering our military men and women, past, present and even future. GOD BLESS AMERICA ... and YOU and your FAMILY!

The new schedule looks great! It shouldn't take too long to get used to, especially when we're getting even more great radio classics. Thanks, Greg!

Now for something completely different... Over the weekend I got to see a great old science fiction movie, "The Angry Red Planet." What a treat for it to star Gerald Mohr, Les Tremayne, and Jack Kruschen! It was made about 1959 with a copyright date of 1960. Watching old movies is a lot more interesting now! Smile

Good news Greg.

I would find it interesting if you can compile some stats about us. Median age, favorite show and genre would be very interesting.

I'd like to add my "international" two cents and thank all the men and women around the world who fought tierney and injustice so that today we can sit and listen to OTR in the safety and serenity of our own homes.

No man is an island.

God Bless Us, Everyone.

Matt Pelc....maybe we can also record listening times. I am a commuter (70-minutes each way) and if there is a popular time slotmaybe there can be "premium" shows showcased at that time....

I also look forward to the new schedules when they come out.

Also have taped a few shows ... are we supposed to admit to this?

Hey, all we want to do is help to preserve history.

Looking forward to the Dragnet Anniversary shows.

Hey Greg, I was listening to the Vincent Price tribute earlier this evening and I have to give you some kudos. You were talking about Mr. Price's career and the fact that he spoofed his horror movie roles in the 60's, I was also surprised and happy that you mentioned Vincent voicing the character Vincent Van Ghoul on Scooby Doo. I am a huge Scooby Doo fan and have seen pretty much every single episode of each Scooby series; BTW, the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo was the name of the series that he voiced Vincent Van Ghoul in; not many people know that Vincent Price was a voice on Scooby Doo and I think it was very cool of you to mention that. Also, 2009 is the 40th anniversary of Scooby Doo on television which is a pretty cool achievement. Thanks for mentioning Scooby on 164 and keep up the good work.

Oh and also, part of the idea for Scooby Doo actually came from an old-time radio series called I Love A Mystery and I was just curious if you knew that as well.

Greetings Greg,
Can/will you let we subscribers know what happened to the guy you replaced? Also, what's the rationale for Christmas in July??? When the old ball-and-chain told me that Sears was actually pitching Christmas stuff I just figured the kids had finally pushed her over the edge. Sheesh...

Thanx,
Joe

Hello Greg. I must tell you how much I dislike the Christmas in July. It seems we get an over abundance of Christmas stories during the Christmas season.
Also for 2 nights in a row, at the same time, I have listened to the same 2 hour program.
I enjoy the 2 hour program theme and all in all am very happy with your radio program.
Would like more Sherlock Holmes and any mysteries available.
Thanks for listening to my gripes.
