Love your radio programs and blog. Listen everyday on my way to and from work. Enjoy the pictures on your blog and putting faces to the actors voices. I remember them in movies, when I was a kid growing up. Keep up the good work.

Hi, Greg! Being a former watcher of "Days of Our Lives," "The Young and the Restless," "Another Life" (My favorite) "The Doctors" "Somerset" and "Another World" (the last 4 aren't even on anymore), I appreciate soap operas. In fact, the university from which I graduated even offered "The Psychology of the Soap Opera." No, I didn't take the course but, looking back, I wish I had. I'm a not-so-secret soap fan but I don't watch them anymore. All the "old" characters are gone and now, all they have people in and out of beds quicker than flies on cows.
So, now to my point, Greg: I really enjoy hearing "The Doctor's Wife" and I was pleased to hear you plan to play more soaps in the summer. That is so cool - my father said he remembers my grandmother (his mother, of course) listening to the afternoon soaps on the radio while keeping house, cooking and looking after a husband (when he was home - he was a career Marine) and tending to 10 children!
He're an aside right down soap opera lane: While I was in college, I fell in love with (and never have quite fallen out of love with) a young man whose last name was (and still is, I hope and assume) Palmer and who became a doctor. His first name, however, was William, not Nick. I wonder how and where he is? Anyway...thanks again, Greg, for the soap operas. I don't think the fellows will enjoy them but bear with us guys - it's better for us to listen to (or watch) the soaps than to live them! I really enjoy them. Stay tuned for our next episode when Rosemary says ...

Stay Tuned for next week when Rosemary says...

"Oh my gosh! I just remembered that MacDonald Carey, shown
in the cool photos Greg posted from the 'Wake Island' movie,
was the longtime lead on, "Days of Our Lives" where he also
played a wonderful caring doctor.

I am like so totally stoked."

Tune in again next week when Margo Lane asks, "Lamont,
what does 'stoked' mean?"

I have to say listening to the Fighting AAF was a very special treat for myself and my oldest son. We've had the honour of meeting Dutch Van Kirk (the navigator of the Enola Gay) a couple times and are looking forward to seeing him again on June 6th at the WWII weekend at Reading Airport. he's always been great with Thomas and very interesting to talk to. How neat it was to hear an interview with him 64 years ago and know we'll talk to him in 2 weeks!

Jim, Margo's vocabulary would never contain the word "stoked" unless she was talking about what the butler does with the furnace. And, just for the record, it's "the lovely Margo Lane".

Rosemary, I remember my mom watching soaps while she stopped her housework for lunch. She'd send me from the room because they were "not for children". The radio soaps seem pretty tame compared to the "flies and the cows" of today.

BTW, GREAT schedule next week Greg. Well done! I print out my schedule in black and white and highlight the shows I don't want to miss with pink hi-liter. There's more pink than print for next week!

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but the search function has failed to produce an answer for me. What is up with the Lone Ranger on hiatus? Did him and Tonto head to the old west senior citizens home? They hang up their guns for keeps? Someone spill the goods.

Issues with the content provider on the Lone Ranger. Greg has his six shooters loaded and is trying to get them back.

Fabulous schedule nest week. I'm not a huge Fred Allen fan, but there is a ton of other great stuff. The Crystal Lake Johnny Dollar is my second favorite Johnny Dollar, so that is cool. Glad to see some Richard Diamond, Life With Luigi, Phil Harris/Alice Faye, and Charlie McCarthy in there too!

Hi, Gang! Tonight, I will have earned my right to listen to Greg and the gang. I went to a job interview (they sought me) and left it realizing "This ain't for me!" It's a company that wants its people to go door to door to interest residents in buying things from the company's clients. I hate door-slams and, living in a home, I know how much I HATE it when strangers come to my home to sell something. So I'll curl into my bed with my trusty old radio beside me and listen to what's on tonight. I have an interview at another place next week - I hope I get that one.
I'm with "the lovely maroglane" -- I also print out the skeds in black and white and highlight favorite shows in pink (mine is orange becase that's the only color Dad has in his office. I think I'll leave a pink marker in there; I prefer pink to orange).
I listened to "Lights Out: Murder in the Script Dept" last night and I was scared --- WITLESS!!!!!! OMG, I had to TURN MY LIGHTS ON because I was listening in the dark and suddenly, every sound I heard in my house had me terrified! So, Greg, make sure to include that in the two 2-hour marathon for Arch Oboler's 100th birthday Dec. 7. And what a twist of an ending!!!! At least I got to sleep in peace (it almost was REST IN PEACE!) after that ending! Does anyone know if there is an authorized biography of Arch Oboler? I'll have to look on Amazon.com or my (hopefully) future employer, Barnes & Noble. More later, Gang!God bless and Good Night, Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, Greg! You are a God-send! Isn't this blog terrific? I've met such fascinating people on it! Take care, all!

I am so bummed, our bedroom xm radio bit the big one, so I can only listen in the cars. We are in the process of replacing it. It did run 12 to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for nearly as long as xm has been around. Have been listening to old radio cds, but I keep expecting to hear Greg telling me info on the shows. It just ain't the same. Keep a good thought for me Smile) LOL

Hi, Gang! I admit the radio version will never outdo Raymond Burr as TV's "Perry Mason" but I do hope Greg will get more radio Perry Mason's...I'd like to get the rest of the story he plays annually as well as other episodes. I've always enjoyed PM, no matter in what form it airs.
Am happy as my perverbial flies on the cows with the 2-hour Dragnet special. Jack Webb's stuccato (sp) delivery is marvelous, as is the way the show humanizes police officers and even the criminals. Thanks, Greg, for remembering the 60th anniversary of the show's first airing.
More later. Happy listening and ... HAPPY TRAILS!

Hi, All! (This is a variation from my usual "Hi, Gang" greeting) Hey, Janet - I'm with you - I'm addicted to Classic Radio, too. My poor father - with whom I live - has "lost" his radio. He actually asks me for "permission" to change it to either the 40s or to classical music, which is what he likes best! And, being beneficent (especially since he pays the bills!), I "allow" him to have HIS radio at 7 AM Saturdays!
But this addiction, which, for me, includes leaving my radio on all night, can have dire consequences! The other morning, I had the radio on all night as usual. I stirred just in time (4 AM) to hear Greg playing one of my favorite shows - "I Was a Communist For the FBI." The next thing, the show entered my dreams. I dreamed I was driving home and the main street on which I was driving was suddenly blocked off by ... Communists! I couldn't even use my cell phone to call Dad! I was trapped! Thankfully, my "four-legged alarm clock" - my beloved greyhound Daisy, came in my bedroom to wake me up. Will this stop me from leaving my radio on? NOOOOO! I've had "worse" things happen to me than that dream --- recently, I awoke scared ...WITLESS" after lstening to "Lights Out: Murder in the Script Department." I'd heard it before but it's entirely different when you hear it with the ... lights out. Suddenly, every sound in my own house scared me to death!
