Sirius 118 XM 164 PDF Version and the Excel Version
In addition to the usual themed comedies that debut on Father's Day (from Jack Benny, Father Knows Best, The Life of Riley) I am bringing back last year's My Father's Father's Day Picks. This year Dan Bell stays with his preferred Western genre with Gunsmoke, The Six Shooter and Frontier Gentleman with a Dragnet tossed in. Also we mark Phil Harris (June 24th, 1904) and voice wiz Paul Frees (June 22nd, 1920) birthdays.

Wow, Greg, your dad's taste seem perfect for me! Thank him and wish him Happy Father's Day from all of us. And Happy Father's Day to every dad out there. As a daddy myself, I know it's not the easiest job in the world, but certainly has the best rewards in the world, including my beautiful three-year old girl, Kelsey and my son, Logan, who will be arriving around July 20th!

Erika,The content provider is not allowing Greg or XM to air the Lone Ranger or Sgt. Preston. They have been working on it for a couple of months.Mark,I believe it is not available online for the same reason that is hampering the Lone Ranger, the content providers will not allow it.

Hi Greg; Your dad is my kind of man, I love the channel and enjoy most everything you play, but I have to admit my absolute favorites are : Gunsmoke, Frontier Gentleman, The Sixth Shooter, and Dragnet. I would add "Have Gun wil travel" to that list. Keep up the good work I listen most everyday. Bob Conrad

BLOOPER ALERT!!! BLOOPER ALERT!!!Wow, when we listen so intently that we can spot bloopers, well we know that Radio Classics has arrived. On the Johnny Dollar Marathon, he gets involved in a woman who dies mysteriously. Unidentified, her purse is missing. At the end of the 2nd segment, he finds her purse. Inside is some normal items, plus a "32 Automatic".At the start of the next segment, the gun has now become a 38 Automatic, and is referred to that way from then on.I thought I heard it that way the first time I heard the airing, had to listen again to make sure I heard it right.Wonder how that ever got past them back then?Cool.

Sevens, I'm listening to that Johnny Dollar right now. I'm enjoying it. Erika, From what I've read The Lone Ranger and Sgt. Preston, it looks they might put that out to pasture. I doesn't sound like who ever owns it won't let Sirius XM play it. Which confuses me because if they play it they would get Royaities (SP?). Too bad too. I enjoyed the Lone Ranger. Mark, I think the reason is the same reason for the Lone Ranger. The Rights to them. My father was a fan of "The Shadow". He told me of how he listen to it when he was young. Sadly he passed away three years ago in April. I now listen to it and now enjoying it and think of him when ever I listen to it. I'm not a father myself but due to my mother and father I know enjoy Old Time Radio. My mother told me how she enjoyed Fibber McGee and Molly when I know enjoy as well.

Bob, When you hear the intro to my father's special, you'll hear him list his favorites and Palladin is indeed one of them, just not enough room in the special to fit them all. He also loves Sgt. Preston, but as you saw in earlier posts, I'm not allowed to play it right now. Love the comments folks, keep 'em coming! Greg

Greg: It's great to learn you are continuing a Family Tradition learned from your Father. Many of us across the USA and Canada have reason to be grateful to the Bell clan! Thanks for the photo of VIC PERRIN, my favorite character actor on Dragnet. He usually plays a witness or victim, and always get sarcastic and arch in answering questions from Sgt. Friday. Friday often loses him temper and says stuff like "Why don't you just settle down there, Mister?" Jack Webb used Vic Perrin to poke fun at Friday, who is sometimes a bit of a stuffed shirt. It speaks well for Jack Webb that he could kid himself.

Jim, If you think about it everyone in Dragnet played a witness or a victim, or the guilty person if you think about it. My brother said it perfectly. He said the show was so hokey but that's what made it so good.

Greg, I think you are the greatest thing in radio or TV. I mainly listen to the wonderful old radio classics. Of course, I'm getting to the age that I can relate and enjoy everything that you have and I really apreciate it! I even bought one of the radios for the house. Since I'm retiring I won't be driving as much but still don't want to miss all the great programs. Thanks again for all you do! It really means a lot!

Hi, Greg! I have a quick question. In the lead-in for the Suspense episode starring Red Skelton, you say the broadcast date was 3 November 1949. After the episode, however, you say the date was 11 November 1949. Which date is the correct one? No date is given on the weekly schedule.
