Here is schedule for the week of October 11th - October 17th, 2009.

Sirius 118 XM 164 PDF Version and the Excel Version or the direct link to the page HERE

Yes, more movies come to radio (although The Birds is actually from the literary source not the 1963 Alfred Hitchcock big screen thriller)

Herbert Marshall stars in Daphne Du Maurier's story of a avian attack in a 1953 hour long episode.

All the principal film stars (Humphrey Bogart, Mary Astor, Syndey Greenstreet, Peter Lorre) are back for a 1943 - Screen Guild Theatre version of "The Maltese Falcon."

Gary Cooper and Jean Arthur will be heard in an hour long version of Frank Capra's "Mr. Deeds Goes To Town".

Just really slammed right now and didn't want folks who don't directly to the schedule page to have to wait any longer to get the schedule. I actually post the schedule around Monday most weeks, but for people who use the readers - they only see the postings not the entire Greg Bell Blog page - so that is why I have to also post the schedule.

Pictures are coming.

Greg.

No worries, I always appreciate reminders, it is how I get through the work day and the home life - "Put it on the calendar"as the wife always says.

Greg,

I think I remember you playing the birds one time. It was pretty good as I remember. I remember Alfred Hitchcock's version scared the hell out of me as a little kid.

Can you explain "Remley's" connection to Phil Harris? I understand he stayed with Jack Benny when Phil got his own show and an actor played his part on the Harris Faye show? But why wouldn't he have moved with Phil Harris if he was a guitar player in the band?

For Steve: The guitar player in the Phil Harris band on the Benny program was named Rembley (sp?) and became a character referred to on many programs. The real Rembley could not act, so Elliott Lewis performed the role. When Phil Harris got his own show (with Alice, of course) Lewis went along as Rembley, though eventually the character's name was changed to Elliott and the name Rembley was no longer used.

It's baseball post-season and I'm watching my Angels beat the Redsox. How sweet it is! So, my OTR listening takes a back seat in October.

SiriusXM is running at least two promos for RadioClassics on other channels, and which feature "The Lone Ranger" in the listing of shows the channel airs.

The folks who do the promos at the Avenue of the Americas apparently aren't aware the masked man has ridden into the SiriusXM sunset.

I'm missing the masked man and Sgt. Preston.

I think we need to send in Walker, Texas Ranger to free the Lone Ranger....

It's too bad the content providers don't see that sales of the Lone Ranger on the Radio Classics web site go up when people hear them on OTR. In essence OTR pays the content provider the advertise their material on the channel.

Greg, who do we write to about this? Would it help or hinder your work?

GREAT pix, Greg - especially "The Letter," one of my all-time favorite movies. My favorite Bette Davis movie line is from that movie, "With all my heart, I still love the man I killed." Gets me every time.
Listened to "The Birds" at 4 AM today --- NOT a good idea; scared the you-know-what out of me but I enjoyed it anyway. Herbert Marshall could read the telephone book and I'd be happy.
As always, thanks for all you do. I've come to realize my favorite part of the channel - besides the shows, obviously - is when you give out information on the show, the stars, the stories, etc. I LOVE that so much. Smile

Super bowl tickets

Herbert Marshall is very renown and really deserving actor. He is best in old and classical movies. His movies like Daphne Du Maurier's story of a avian attack are the best one.

Sandy

Hi Greg, I loved the Lone Ranger and miss him also, but what about Hopalong Cassidy. I used to have a Hopalong Cassidy cowgirl outfit, ha ha. Also love the star's pictures. I collected movie star pictures in the 50's as a teenager. I guess they don't do that anymore much. Wish I had all of them now. Thanks for the great work that you do.
